What we need from you, and what happens when we do not get it
We have had campaigns underperform for interesting strategic reasons perhaps twice. Everything else that has gone slowly went slowly for one of four boring reasons below.
Access, once, properly
We need admin on the things we are managing: your website, domain or DNS, Google Business Profile, the social accounts, the ad accounts, and whatever currently holds your customer list.
The common failure is partial access. An editor role where admin was needed, or a personal account nobody can get into because it belongs to a former employee.
Clearing this in week one is the single highest-leverage thing you do. Clearing it in week five costs you a month.
A shoot day that actually happens
One filming day produces weeks of content. It is also the item most likely to be rescheduled, usually for good reasons — a job overran, someone called in sick.
Each move pushes the content calendar with it. And because crew and equipment are reserved in advance, late changes can carry a charge. That is in our terms and we would rather flag it here than have it be a surprise on an invoice.
Treat it like a client appointment, not an internal one.
Answers only you have
We can write, film, build and schedule. We cannot invent:
- What you actually charge, and what you will not do.
- Which jobs you want more of and which you are happy to lose.
- Whether a claim about your work is true.
- Permission to film a property, a premises or a person.
That last one matters more than people expect. If we are filming at a client's property, the permission needs to exist before the shoot.
Approvals, in days not weeks
Drafts waiting on approval are the quietest way a content schedule dies. A week of silence becomes a gap, and gaps are exactly what the schedule existed to prevent.
We would rather have a fast rough answer than a perfect slow one. Not this, more like that is enough to keep moving.
What you get for holding up your end
Content that goes out whether or not you remembered. Enquiries that get answered when you are under a sink or in a showing. A monthly call where somebody can actually tell you what changed.
None of which requires much of your time — perhaps a few hours in the first fortnight, a shoot day, and a call. But those hours are not optional, and no agency can substitute for them.
